Apple May Unveil HomePad Smart Home Hub at October 13 Event
Apple will hold a special event called “Welcome Home” in New York on October 13 at 17:00 Azerbaijan time. The invitation and video shared by the company feature the classic colorful Apple logo embroidered with thread. The home theme in the event’s name suggests that new smart home devices will be unveiled. This will be the company’s next event following the iPhone 18 Pro, AirPods 5, Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 models in September.
The main anticipated product is the HomePad smart home control hub, whose official name has not yet been confirmed. Its design is expected to resemble the old iMac G4 model and Pixar studio’s Luxo Jr. lamp. Another tablet-like, wall-mounted version is also being discussed. HomePad could be used to control HomeKit-compatible devices in the home from a single screen. According to rumors, HomePad could feature a 6-inch screen and stand on a base. A separate operating system is being developed for the device, and Siri AI is expected to serve as its primary control system. The screen could be used to view photos and videos, make FaceTime calls, ask questions and open apps. The system could recognize the user and tailor the information on the screen to that person.
Updates to the HomePod mini, HomePod and Apple TV 4K models are also expected at the event. They could be equipped with faster processors to run Siri AI and Apple Intelligence features. The small smart speaker is said to be coming in pink, green and other pastel colors. Apple TV 4K could be unveiled with an updated Siri Remote.
Apple may also collaborate with LG to develop smart home accessories. The anticipated products include a smart doorbell, indoor and outdoor cameras, a security camera with a light, a smart lock and a thermostat. Various sensors are also expected to join this product family. According to the information, the devices will bear the LG logo and will be designed for the Apple Home system. The company also has a prototype of a moving smart display resembling a robotic lamp. However, it is not expected to be shown at the upcoming event. Apple has not yet announced the list of products or their prices. Details about HomePad, updated home devices and accessories being developed with LG will become clear at the October 13 event.
