AWS Agentic Football Cup: Virtual Soccer Tournament Between AI Teams to Be Held in Baku with Azercell’s Support

On October 17, the “AWS Agentic Football Cup,” organized by AWS User Group Baku with the support of Azercell, will be held in Baku. Participants will create AI-powered soccer teams and have them compete in a virtual environment. This format will give participants an opportunity to gain practical experience using artificial intelligence and cloud technologies.

Unlike traditional technology events, the tournament will feature participants creating soccer teams consisting of five AI agents. Each will be controlled by an AI agent—a program that analyzes the situation in the game and makes decisions independently. Participants will determine their teams’ strategies and deploy the programs they develop on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform.

Once the game begins, the virtual players will move without human intervention. The AI agents will analyze the situation on the field and autonomously make decisions such as moving, passing, defending, attacking, and shooting. Participants will shape the agents’ strategies and behavior and improve their teams by monitoring the results.

Participants may take part individually or as a team. Registration for the event is available through the Meetup platform.

Azercell’s support for the event is a continuation of its efforts to develop knowledge and skills in artificial intelligence in the country, promote the practical application of cloud technologies, and strengthen the local technology community. The tournament will serve as an effective platform for students, engineers, and people interested in technology to acquire new skills and exchange experience.
