Details of Lenovo’s Googlebook 15 Android Laptop Leak

The full specifications of the Lenovo Googlebook 15 laptop have leaked ahead of its unveiling. The Android-based model is designed for the premium segment, with a high-quality display, a powerful processor, and up to 32 GB of random-access memory (RAM). Google plans to release the new Googlebook platform by the end of the year. The first models are expected to be shown at an event on September 15. However, the exact release date and price have not yet been announced.

The Lenovo Googlebook 15 will have a 15.3-inch OLED touchscreen. The display will have a resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. This specification means that images will appear smoother. The display will have a 16:10 aspect ratio and a maximum brightness of 500 nits. Colors are expected to appear richer because it covers 100 percent of the DCI-P3 color space. The chassis, which has thin bezels, will measure 341 mm wide and 236 mm deep. The laptop will be 16 mm thick and weigh approximately 1.29 kg.

The laptop will be powered by an Intel Core Ultra 5 325 processor. Buyers will be able to choose between 16 GB and 32 GB LPDDR5x RAM configurations. Storage options will be 256 GB and 512 GB. The GB 151PH12 model code points to the Panther Lake H platform and integrated Intel graphics. The 70 Wh battery is expected to last up to 11 hours on a single charge.

For input, it has a 150 x 95 mm touchpad that provides haptic feedback when touched. For security, there is a fingerprint sensor and a facial recognition system called Google facial authentication. A 5 MP RGB webcam will be used for video calls. Next to the camera are 2 microphones and a physical privacy shutter that covers the lens. The backlit keyboard has a dedicated G key. There will be 4 speakers with Dolby Atmos audio technology along the edges of the chassis.

For connectivity, there are 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports. It also has 1 USB 3.2 Type A port. HDMI 2.0 and an audio jack are also included. Wireless connectivity will be provided by Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. A multicolored Glowbar strip on the lid will show the battery and charging status. The Lenovo AI Mouse will have the same light indicator. However, what the mouse’s artificial intelligence features will do has not yet been explained.

Android apps and files on a phone can be opened directly on the Googlebook 15. Magic Cursor, part of the Gemini Intelligence suite, will turn the mouse pointer into a tool that sends Gemini a question based on the content on the screen. Features developed for Android, such as Circle to Search and Create Your Widget, will arrive on the laptop sooner. However, some new features will be available only in selected countries and languages and to users over the age of 18.

Lenovo is also working on a tablet with a detachable keyboard and touchpad. The laptop bundle may include Lenovo E310 True Wireless Earbuds and a Lenovo 540 Convertible Tote bag. For comparison, the similar Lenovo ThinkPad X9 15 Aura Edition starts at 1,519 dollars (approximately 2,580 manats). The more powerful version costs as much as 2,396 dollars (approximately 4,070 manats). However, these are not the official prices for the Googlebook 15.
