Honor Magic9 Super Edition unveiled: a powerful flagship with an 11,000 mAh battery

Honor has unveiled another model in its new flagship series, the Magic9 Super Edition smartphone. The new device stands out with its high-capacity battery, powerful hardware, active cooling system, and enhanced camera capabilities.

The smartphone features a 6.81-inch flat OLED display. The panel has a resolution of 2788×1280 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and maximum local brightness of 10,000 nits. The display's global brightness reaches 2,000 nits. It also supports 3,840 Hz PWM, which helps reduce eye strain caused by flickering.

Performance is handled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor used in the previous generation. The chip is paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 internal storage. To keep temperatures under control under heavy loads, the smartphone features an active cooling system consisting of a built-in fan and a vapor chamber.

The Magic9 Super Edition's main feature, however, is its 11,000 mAh battery. This is the largest battery capacity among smartphones in the Magic series. The device supports 80 W wired and 50 W wireless charging. In addition, its fast wired reverse charging feature makes it possible to power other devices from the smartphone's battery.

The camera system is also quite ambitious. The main camera features a 1/1.55-inch Samsung S5KHP5 200 MP sensor, an f/1.9 aperture, and optical image stabilization. It is complemented by a 50 MP telephoto camera based on the Sony LYTIA 500 sensor. This module offers 3x optical zoom and OIS support.

The third camera is a 12 MP ultrawide module with autofocus. The front-facing camera integrated into the display has a resolution of 50 MP and a 90-degree field of view.

The smartphone runs MagicOS 11 based on Android 17. Other features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, an infrared port, and an under-display optical fingerprint scanner. The body is protected against water and dust in accordance with IP68, IP69, and IP69K standards.
