Poco F9 Ultra Arrives With an Illuminated Bose Subwoofer and 185 Hz Display (PRICE)
Xiaomi’s Poco brand has partnered with Bose for the second consecutive year to introduce the Poco F9 Pro and Poco F9 Ultra smartphones. The Poco F9 Ultra, the key model in the series, stands out with its illuminated subwoofer, extremely bright display and large battery. Although the Poco F9 Pro has a display of the same caliber, it is equipped with simpler stereo speakers. Both models focus on performance and mobile gaming capabilities.
The Poco F9 Ultra retains the Bose-branded 2.1 sound system from last year’s model, but its two main speakers have been upgraded. The subwoofer remains unchanged, while a small white LED ring has been added around it. The light activates for calls and notifications, as well as in sync with the rhythm of music and games. The phone also includes Bose sound profiles, an adjustable equalizer and a gaming audio system that emphasizes opponents’ footsteps in shooter games. The Poco F9 Ultra features a 6.9-inch OLED display. The display has a peak brightness of 10,000 nits and a maximum refresh rate of 185 Hz. However, the 185 Hz mode will work only in compatible games. At launch, more than twenty games will support the mode, including Clash of Clans and GTA: Liberty City Stories. The Poco F9 Pro’s 6.59-inch display is smaller, but its brightness and speed specifications remain the same.
The Poco F9 Ultra is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. The silicon-carbon battery has a capacity of 8,050 mAh and supports 100 W charging. The rear camera module contains a 200-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel periscope camera with 5x zoom and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera. Xiaomi algorithms are used to process images.
The Poco F9 Pro is a more affordable version with some simplified features. Its Bose stereo speakers lack a subwoofer and an LED notification light, while its battery has a capacity of 6,330 mAh. Its telephoto and ultrawide cameras are also less capable than those of the Poco F9 Ultra. The model uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 V Series processor, which delivers slightly lower performance than the standard version. The Poco F9 Ultra has a starting price of 1,099.90 euros (approximately 2,170 manat), but it is being offered for 829.90 euros (approximately 1,640 manat) during the initial sales campaign. The Poco F9 Pro goes on sale for 899.90 euros (approximately 1,780 manat), while its initial price is 739.90 euros (approximately 1,460 manat). Poco will provide four years of operating system updates for both smartphones. Security updates will continue for six years.
