The Unity of Science and Business, the Potential of Artificial Intelligence Technologies, and Shared Goals

    On October 23, 2026, representatives from science, education, business, and artificial intelligence gathered at the office of MegaSec LLC with Professor Garib Murshudov, a professor and research group leader at the University of Cambridge and an Honored Scientist of Azerbaijan.

    The meeting was attended by Yaqub Piriyev, rector of Baku Engineering University; Rufat Azizov, rector of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University; Elviz Ismayilov, ASOIU vice-rector for science and innovation; Yusif Ibrahimov, head of the university’s Artificial Intelligence Institute; Orkhan Karimzade, professor of electrical and electronics engineering at ADA University and adviser to the ASOIU rector; Anar Isgandarov, chair of the Milli Majlis Committee on Science and Education; and Milli Majlis member Jeyhun Mammadov.

    The main topics of discussion were connecting scientific research with technological innovation, strengthening scientific capacity in artificial intelligence, turning academic knowledge into practical solutions, and expanding cooperation between higher education institutions and the private sector. The participants also exchanged views on developing new products, advancing joint research initiatives, and opportunities to apply scientific findings in the business environment.

    The participants emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between science and business, making more effective use of universities’ scientific potential, and pursuing joint initiatives aimed at developing innovative technologies.

    The meeting was significant in terms of expanding the practical application of scientific knowledge and identifying new opportunities for cooperation in artificial intelligence.
