AWS Agentic Football Cup, a Virtual Tournament Between AI-Managed Soccer Teams, to Be Held in Baku With Azercell's Support

On October 17, the AWS Agentic Football Cup, organized by AWS User Group Baku with the support of Azercell, will be held in Baku. During the tournament, participants will create AI-managed soccer teams, develop game strategies, and test them in virtual matches. This format will provide hands-on experience with AI agents and cloud technologies.

The tournament differs from traditional technology events. Each soccer team will consist of five virtual players controlled by individual AI agents—programs capable of analyzing the game situation and making decisions independently. Participants will develop player behavior algorithms, determine their teams' tactics, and deploy the completed programs on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud platform.

During matches, the virtual soccer players will act autonomously, without human intervention. The AI agents will choose positions on the field, make passes, organize defense and attack, and take shots on goal. By analyzing match results, participants will be able to improve their teams' programs and strategies.

Participants can join the tournament individually or as part of a team. Registration is open on the Meetup platform.

The tournament will serve as an effective platform for students, engineers, and aspiring developers to exchange experience and develop practical skills. By supporting the initiative, Azercell is helping advance knowledge and skills in artificial intelligence, promote the practical application of cloud technologies, and strengthen Azerbaijan's technology community.
